Good to see you, I'm Rio
Founding designer at Tatum. Five years in product design, currently building a developer infrastructure platform end-to-end.
Recently I spent eighteen months moving slowly through Southeast Asia, Europe, and Africa. The travel changed how I work.
These days I'm in Brighton, UK, training boxing for the first time, watching too much Arsenal, and building this site with AI agents on the side.
How I think about design
Good design is the layer that makes complexity feel obvious. I work on products where the wrong default costs someone real money, real trust, or real time, so I sweat the details that look small and aren't. AI is a new material, not a feature, and I treat it that way. It's also moving me from product designer toward design engineer, with closer touch on the frontend and the product thinking that feeds it. The designers I learn from are the ones who run things end-to-end and care about the unglamorous wiring as much as the surface.
